Stun Guns are a nonlethal self defense weapon that are an effective device
used to subdue a person. Stun Guns work on a principle where high voltage pulses
are applied to a person's muscle causing them to be vigorously exercised.
The result of a stun gun is instant fatigue, weakness and loss of balance. The
stun gun victim will be weak, lethargic, and disoriented for several minutes
allowing sufficient time for a person to escape.
Most states now equip police officers with stun guns. They find it is a safe way
to control people who are uncooperative, but are not actually threatening an
officer's life. Physically restraining an out of control person can cause
injuries to the officer or suspect Stun guns have proven to be an alternative to
the use of deadly force. During police training, officers who allow themselves to
be stunned report receiving the worst pain they have ever experienced.
This means that even after an attacker recovers from the effects of a stun gun,
they are not likely to risk getting stunned again.
Stun Guns are ideal protection for a women or anyone concerned with being
physically overpowered by an attacker. They should not be used to defend
yourself against an attacker with a firearm or knife. To use a stun gun, hold
the electrodes firmly against a muscular area of the attackers body such as a
shoulder, thigh, or buttocks. You will not receive a shock even if you are
touching the person being stunned. To completely subdue the attacker, the stun
gun must be continuously applied for a few seconds.
More time is required if the person is large, or you are using a low voltage
model.

volts for maximum security. Stun guns come in straight and curved models. The
straight stun gun is typically smaller and easier to carry, the curved model
allows a more natural wrist angle when using the stun gun. All stun guns are
operated by one or more 9 volt alkaline or lithium batteries, sold separately.
